“Yes, our tag line is created by women, for everyone because we want to emphasize female voices, but don’t want to diminish the male members of our community,” states Sam. “Like most comedy scenes, males hold the majority and we thought it’d be a welcomed change to put women at the forefront. We want to let people know we are out here, and can hopefully diversify the community by showing everyone they’re welcome to join in.”

Cleveland’s Mass Hysteria comedy fest returns!

Mass Hysteria, Cleveland’s female-run comedy festival, will return for its third year Oct. 22-24.
Plenty of fun is planned for the weekend, with storytelling shows, comedy workshops, improv performances and more over the course of three days. Mass Hysteria will take place at the recently opened Imposters Theater in Tremont.

Imposters Theater Creates inclusive space for improv and sketch comedy in Cleveland

When comedian Michael Busch moved back to Cleveland after living and working in Los Angeles for 15 years, he found himself surprised that there was no center for improvised and sketch comedy.

"We wanted a name that involved comedy and women, and we know women sometimes get a bad rap for being 'hysterical,' but we wanted to bring out the good hysteria in women."
